Mites!

Found mites on the tomato plants, and on the pumpkin plants!  AAAARG!  The leaves have little white spots on them and some are drying out and dying.  (leaves not plants)

Found THIS  to kill them.  So I have just trimmed all lower leaves and chopped them up, ready to spray everything tomorrow.  I really hope it works, have had very good luck with these plants so far so we would be very disappointed to loose them to minuscule invaders!

Boys and I had a great day today!  I woke up at 6:30am, before the alarm. (I know, crazy eh?)  Had nice coffee/e-mail check by myself.  Then boys got up.

The boys strung beads on pipe cleaners for almost an hour while I knitted (yay!)  Then we made pizza dough cookie, very yummy, the recipe is HERE.

Off to playgroup we went.  Met up with Heather and her crew.  Went to the park after then back to our house for Popsicles.  Lindsay walked by so she stopped in with her crew too!  Lots of kids in our yard, it felt like a park :)

Then Cy requested a movie and both boys lounged  on the couch and watch Bambi, they were worn out, Mama also watched quite a bunch too.  I really like that movie, so mellow and so many lessons too.
I finished the laundry finally.  Not a stitch of dirty clothes in the house other then what the boys and Q took off before bed.  Hopefully I will be able to stay on top of it.

The boys and I headed outside for another hr of play and garden before a dinner of hot dogs and butternut squash soup.  Then Q came home and bed for the boys.  They both complained before bed but 5 min later ..... silence :) two happy sleepy boys

Yarn Along

Linking up to the YARN ALONG HERE

I am almost finished T's sweater that I can almost taste it.  I just need to knit up the collar and sew my ends in.. oh and pic some very fitting buttons.  I tried the sweater on his today and he hated it.  I'm hoping once it's all finished with no hanging strings that he will like it (fingers crossed).  The pattern is Gavyn in Ravlery.

The rest of our day has been riddled with sniffles and vomit.

I have had a wicked cold since last Friday and it's seems to just keep getting worse.  I sneeze all day 5 or 6 sneezes at a time.  My head hurts and I am so congested that I am unable to taste my food :(.  All I want to do is go to sleep but someone has to change bums and gets snacks.

Cy also has the cold, it has just started with him so I hope by the time he is full blown I will be better so I can take care of him better.  Also after lunch Cy was running around and then just vomited on the floor.  He said he was hot.  Since then he has had no problems and ran around the yard for an hour.  Hope that one little vomit is the only one I see.

It reminds me of the time my brother was little and my mom was doing his halloween makeup.  He said he felt bad and then one second later he vomited everywhere.  My mom barely had time to barrel roll out of the way :O

Strawberry Fields

I moved 12 strawberry plants from the front garden to a new bed at the back.  I hope all of the plants that I transplanted survive.  Right when I was finished it started to pour so they had a good drink.

The boys were making a mud pond in the yard today.  T learned how to turn on and off the outdoor tap.  Endless fun.  T did get a face full of mud when Cy swing a shovelful.  I wished I had taken a photo :(

When the rain started I wrapped all of C's yarn into hanks so I could see how much she had.  Such  a beautiful hand spun yarn.  Looks like candy.

The cold I have is really getting to me.  All sneezing and stuffy nose.  I just hope I do not get a sinus infection like I had last year. (knock on wood)  The boys also have it now too so I am debating if we should skip school tomorrow or not...

Off to get the boys to bed after wrestle mania, then I hope to finish T's sweater tonight

Birds and Bees.....

Saw our first bumble bee today!  It was huge.  It's almost time to let our mason bees come out of hibernation... maybe this weekend.  I am really excited to see how they do.

We saw a Yellow Headed Blackbird today in the yard.  I have never seen one before and it looked tropical to me.  Not my pic... (i  wish)  it came from here

Hope to see more of this guy and many others as the season continues.  Also some some Junco's eating from Cy' feeder last week.  Also Q saw a bald eagle on his way to work.

Lindsay and I almost hit a black bear last friday on the way to knitting.  It ran right out onto the road!  A very large one, pure black , at least 400 lbs I think.

I LOVE living here!

Here is my little grow-op!

Hello Cy!

Rub My belly!
Last night Cy helped me to do this christmas craft. I was lucky to have all the supplies already! I found the idea in the Better Homes and Gardens Creative Collection Holiday Crafts magazine. The site I'm loving this magazine. It's full of cute, simple, colorful crafts. I can't wait to do another. I just have to choose which one to do first.... so many to choose!
Good Morning Mama, do you HAVE to use the flash?
Yesterday Fringe Season 2 came in to me at the library. With our library system I can order any book or dvd from anywhere in Alberta. This pretty much guarantees that I can find anything! I stayed up to 1:30am last night watching Fringe. I am loving the new season. It's kind of like X-Files with a new age feel. While I was up so late I worked on Q's Christmas sweater. I finished the arms and am now just stitching them up! I started the sweater in 2009 so it's been a long time coming!
This is our advent calendar that I found at the Christmas Store in Banff. It's a metal one and the little square is a magnet. You just move it over the number you are at. I love it... so simple and elegant looking!
Waiting for pancakes yesterday
The boys waiting for their smiley face pancakes! (the pancake's mother thinks he's cute)

Yesterday Ter said "night, night" as clear a day! Pretty much everyday now he is saying a new word or learning a new skill! It's crazy to think that in the second year of life your baby goes from a crawling, drooling infant to a walking and talking toddler! They really do grow up too fast! No to all you people out there that think we should have 3, this does not mean we are thinking about another. We are just fine thank you very much.
